Public Outreach Services

Our team partners with Placer County Water Agency to design and implement outreach programs to encourage customers use water wisely.

Program highlights include:

Going the Extra Mile for Fix a Leak Week—by developing a unique partnership and video with Del Oro High School featuring a “race” between their mascot, “The Golden Eagle,” and water-saving mascot “Les Leaky.” Set to energizing music and announced by a classic Howard Cosell voice, the video, which was developed and produced with the high school’s video production and broadcasting class, shows the Eagle and Leaky racing before a crowd of students holding up signs that read “Water Sense Rulez” and chanting “Beat the Leak.” The Golden Eagle wins the close race and hoists his trophy, a golden wrench, as the crowd roars. KTXL-TV (FOX40) covered the filming LIVE on their morning newscast.

Laying the Groundwork for Water Savings—an extensive fall campaign in partnership with local nurseries and irrigation supply stores. Our team created new, colorful promotional materials (posters, banners and tip cards) placed in six participating stores, including the popular Green Acres Nursery and Supply. PCWA spokespeople appeared on Fox 40 Live to talk about the benefits of fall planting, WaterSense and various low-water plants ideally suited for the Sacramento region and its climate.

Creative Videos with a Kick—nearly a dozen videos have been developed to capture the public’s attention, educate and inspire action. Videos have focused on getting customers to reduce sprinkler run times in fallwater their lawn efficiently; call for a Water Wise House Call; keep their water meter clear for service teams; the heroic work of PCWA’s Customer Service department; the agency’s internship program; PCWA’s unique canal system; investments in water reliability; and more.
