Community Outreach and Education Program

Our team helps Sacramento Suburban Water District communicate the full range of topics important to SSWD’s mission—from water supply reliability and quality to conservation and water rates—through monthly bill inserts, twice-yearly newsletters, annual Year in Review, advertising (print and the Google Display Network), media outreach and more.

 

Program highlights include:

 

Successful rate increase outreach—that took a systematic approach by first communicating recommendations for an increase found in a third-party rate study; demonstrating how SSWD is well-managed; describing how proposed rate increases would benefit ratepayers; and proactively addressing potential customer concerns.

 

Award-winning campaign branding—such as “H2O Heroto highlight SSWD customers taking great strides to improve their water use efficiency and reduce their water overall water use. H2O Heroes were featured in articles in the billing insert, online and in media articles.

 

Creative graphics and characters—such as the Leak Brothers, created to promote finding and fixing household leaks.

 

Event support and promotion—for events such as the grand openings of two new water-wise demonstration gardens, the “Garden on Eden” and “Gardens at Howe Park,” annual open houses, “Tap Talk Live” speaker’s series, community events and more.
