Strategic Communications Program

The Water Forum is a diverse group of water managers, environmentalists, local governments, business leaders and others working together to balance the co-equal objectives of providing reliable water supplies for the Sacramento region’s economy, and preserving the environment of the Lower American River. Our team has been providing public relations services in support of the Water Forum’s legislative and regulatory agenda since 2017.

Program highlights include:

Climate Symposium—to explore the potential impacts of climate change on the Sacramento region’s water supplies and environment, and potential actions, with a special focus on sensitive communities.

Commissioned artwork/mural—to celebrate the Water Forum’s 20th anniversary and serve as a long-lasting reminder of the region’s progress and commitment to the Water Forum’s coequal goals of water supply reliability and environmental stewardship of the Lower American River.

Positive news coverage from nearly every regional news outlet and industry publications—demonstrating the Water Forum’s restoration project on the Lower American River, their partnership with the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, progress toward meeting the co-equal goals and more.

Lively bicycle tours with critical influencers—that served to educate and advocate while entertaining and building relationships with key audiences.

Compelling and cinematic videosto communicate concerns about how proposed regulations threaten to undermine the region’s plan and progress toward balancing environmental stewardship with water supply reliability.
